Linux Enterprise Senior System Engineer

Job description
Do IT Systems is looking for a passionate Linux System Engineer to join our HPC Services and  Solutions team.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for Installation, configuration and maintenance of  HPC systems based on  GNU/Linux distributions as well as all related software components.  The  ideal candidate will  also be  responsible  for  designing  and  configuring  HPC  cluster  architectures, including all hardware and software  components (servers, high-speed  interconnects, storage, queue management tools, etc.).  Working in team with our application and system engineers, the candidate will be  responsible for identifying advanced solutions, installation and configuration of HPC  applications, as well as developing applications performance improvements. The candidate will also be responsible for client/user training. 
 
Essential skills and experience
High school diploma/Computer Engineering  degree/degree in other scientific  subjects (eg. Electronics, Maths).
Fluent English (Good Italian and French are desirable).5+ years of experience in similar roles.

Technical skills and experience:

  • Linux Enterprise distributions (RedHat EL, SLES, etc.)
  • Networking: Switching, VLAN, FireWall
  • Monitoring Systems: Zabix, Nagios
  • VMWare vSphere e Horizon (VCP), Citrix, KVM etc.
  • Backup and Scripting with Bash and Python
  • Docker, Singularity, R.H. Container
  • Automations Tools: Ansible, Puppet

Desirable skills and experience:

Job functions include teaming with Cloud HPC support staff to answer user questions and solve technical problems by phone, email, and on site. Tasks include interactive issue troubleshooting, following client issue tickets through to resolution, documenting resolutions in a knowledgebase, working with application and system owners or supporters to identify advanced solutions, installing and configuring applications, studying, and improving applications performance, and developing and presenting user training.

SYSOPS ENGINEER

Work place
Hibrid - Turin - Italy 

Job Description 

Do IT Systems is looking for a SysOps Engineer to join its technical team. 

The candidate will be involved in the implementation, analysis and management of cloud infrastructures and will work as part of a team of cloud specialists and systems engineers to ensure that the quality and level of service agreed with customers is maintained. 

You will be involved in both infrastructure management activities and the design and implementation of new architectures. 

Work will include liaising with HPC support staff to answer user queries. 

Experience and Skills 

  • • 3/5 years' experience as SysOps or DevOps 
  • • Good knowledge of Italian and English - knowledge of Spanish or French is an advantage 
  • • Cloud experience and knowledge (AWS, GCP, Oracle or MS Azure) 
  • • Configuration and tuning of cloud infrastructures (managed service and IaaS) 
  • • Experience with Linux operating systems (Redhat EL, SLES, etc.) 
  • • Basic knowledge of networking and security (DNS, dhcp, routing, firewall, VPN, VPC, load balancing, etc.), preferably in a cloud environment. 
  • • Experience with CI/CD and configuration management tools (jenkins, ansible, git, etc.) 
  • • Knowledge of IAC and automation tools (e.g. Terraform) 
  • • Knowledge of container-based infrastructure and microservices (Kubernetes, GKE, Docker Swarm, Singularity, etc.) 
  • • Knowledge of Python/Shell scripting 
  • • Ability to analyse and troubleshoot problems. 

 

Personal characteristics 

Preferably based in Italy, France, Spain 

Ability to work in a team, capacity for innovation, proactivity and good communication, results orientation. 

Willingness to travel to work in Europe.
